Critique Rules

The first submission for critique will be posted on the September 16th, 2013.

From then, a new one will be out every other week (i.e., September 30th).

All critiques should go in the comment section at the end of the post.  An in-depth critique is preferable, so don’t worry if it gets too long and feel free to comment again if you think of something later.  Critiquers are also welcome to comment on other critiques.

When referencing a specific part of a story, indicate how many paragraphs down your reference is– use a number (1, 2, 3, 4, etc).

If the topic, type, or genre of the post isn’t your niche, it’s okay to say so and still critique.

Finally, remember these things:

  1. A good critique isn’t just saying something is wrong, but explaining why.
  2. You have your style, and they have theirs.  It’s okay to say you would have done it a certain way.  That doesn’t mean it’s the right way for the author of the work.
  3. Hate of any nature, or aggressive speak, is not tolerated.

Readers, please note we do not censor content unless in very extreme situations.  Works may contain things you find offensive.
